Look Ahead to October 2010, Answer SPE ROG’s “Call for Papers” Now

   It’s budget planning season and I hope we’re all looking ahead to a more profitable 2010 as many companies begin to emerge from the recession. Yes, I know there’s still a lot of carnage out there, but there are bright spots as well. And the global changes that are occurring right now in the economy will certainly favor national oil companies Р and especially Russia.

   So here’s the first sales pitch from my side: if you’re an upstream operator, service or supply company that considers itself a “player” that will be growing in the Russian market for the long haul, may I recommend that you start thinking now about participating in the 2010 SPE Russian Oil&Gas Technical Conference and Exhibition which will be held next October in Moscow.

   Oil&Gas Eurasia is proud to have been selected for the third time as “Official Publication” of the 2010 SPE event. Co-chairing next year’s conference is Mars Khasanov, Director of Rosneft’s Corporate Scientific and Technical Center, and Andrei Gladkov, General Director of the company, Modeling Technologies Center. And the committee has just come out with its “Call for Papers”.

   If you have a paper that shares best practices or innovative solutions to solving problems in any of the subjects listed below, the Paper Selection Committee (jury) would like to hear from you. A couple of tips I gleaned from www.russianoilgas.com is that priority will be given to SPE-standard paper proposals, with a clear-cut summary. This will help the Conference Program Committee choose the most interesting and relevant paper proposals, merging together the respective experiences, innovations, traditions and latest practices. A full set of guidelines for submitting a paper proposal can also be found on the site. So don’t delay.
