Det norske Stalls Operations at Storklakken Prospect

The Aker Barents semisub commenced drilling operations on well 25/1-11 on the Storklakken prospect in PL 460 on Dec. 31, 2009. The semisub completed the top section of the well and will now go to shore to assemble six hydraulic cylinders - Det norske is not obligated to pay dayrate during the repair period. As such, Det norske expects drilling to be completed in mid-March rather than early-February as previously expected. Exploratory drilling is targeting oil in the prospect, and, if a discovery is made, the operator plans to tie it back to a future installation on the Froy field. Det norske wholly owns and operates PL 460.
