Ukraine To Sell 25% Stake in Naftogaz - Minister

The Ukrainian authorities have decided to sell up to 25 percent of shares in the national oil and gas company, Naftogaz Ukrayiny, RIA-Novosti reported, quoting Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko.

Last week, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said that he did not rule out a partial privatisation of Naftogaz in order to optimise its work.

At the beginning of March, Naftogaz CEO Yevgeniy Baturin said the company could hold an IPO in 2012-2013.

"We have indeed made the decision to sell up to 25 percent of Naftogaz", Boyko said late last night on the Ukrainian television station Inter.
