Baku Interested in Building LNG Terminal In Lithuania

Azerbaijani companies are interested in participating in a tender to build an LNG terminal in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Speaker Irena Dyagutene said during an official visit to Baku.

Dyagutene said that the question of building such a terminal in Lithuania was raised during talks with Azerbaijan leader Aldar Aliyev.

"Lithuania plans to build a liquified gas terminal by 2014 and Azeri companies are interested. They indeed have experience in this area and would be very happy to participate", the speaker said.

Aliyev and Dyagutene also discussed the possibility of renewing the Sarmatiya Eurasian transport corridor which would carry oil from Caspian states to the sea via Poland and thence on to Klaipeda.
