Gazprom Neft Opens 1st Petrol Stop in Romania

Gazprom Neft has opened its first branded gasoline station in Romania. The station is part of an expansion by the Serbian National Oil company, Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) in which Gazprom Neft holds a 56.5 percent interest.

The station is located in Sibiu, 300 kilometers from Bucharest on the international highway E68 Bucharest-Budapest-Vienna. Last week, Gazprom Neft opened its first European petrol station in Serbia. Following this weeks launch into Romania, Gazprom Neft will continue its roll out so that by yearend 2013, it will have over 100 stations throughout Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Gazprom Neft is positioning itself - under the Gazprom brand -in the premium market segment for both high-quality fuel and lubricants, as well as a wide range of related products to be sold through the retail operation. The format of the petrol stations includes shops, restaurants and cafes, and customer services such as wireless Internet access.

In a statement issued by Gazprom Neft's press service, Alexander Dyukov the Chairman of Gazprom Neft Management Board stated. "The development of the GAZPROM petrol stations network in the Balkans is our strategic goal. We plan to expand our presence in Serbia and Romania, and the next step is to enter the Bulgarian market. I am confident that in the nearest future the GAZPROM retail network will become widely known in the Balkans and take leadership in the market."
