Job opportunities at Oil&Gas Eurasia

Eurasia Press Ltd., and its flagship magazine, Oil&Gas Eurasia, are young and growing organizations which offer career opportunities to professionals in oil, gas, and energy journalism, marketing and the business side of trade publishing. OGE is also prepared to occasionally host student interns who are studying business journalism, Russian, or the oil and gas business at a Moscow area university, locally or through a study-abroad program.

You can send your resume or inquiry to [email protected]

Currently, OGE has these job opportunities:

Technology Editor
The Moscow office of Oil & Gas Eurasia, international trade publication covering the upstream sector, seeks an experienced technology editor to run a section in our 96-page, bilingual monthly. The right applicant for the job should have educational background in oil and gas engineering, preferably with a major in exploration, production or drilling. The job involves day-to-day monitoring of the latest technology developments in the upstream sector of the oil industry in Russia and the CIS, building up the magazine's existing network of correspondents and stringers on the post-Soviet landscape, generating story ideas, commissioning stories to external contributors, editing copy and ensuring that deadlines are met. The technology editor's duties also include developing relations with the Moscow offices of the world's largest service companies, traveling in Russia and abroad to attend industry-related exhibitions and conferences, as well as writing news items and extensive reports from these events. The technology editor should also be able to share ideas and proactively cooperate with our team of designers and layout specialists tasked with providing the artwork for the stories under his or her tutelage. Both Russian and foreign applicants are welcome as long as they are bilingual and fluent in Russian and English. All those for whom either language is a problem needn't apply. Previous experience in a similar job is definitely an advantage, as is the existence of widespread contacts and sources in the oil industry.
Why should you apply:
- a competitive salary;
- an excellent opportunity to travel, learn the industry from inside and meet top executives and decision-makers in Russia's most powerful industry;
- a slot in a team blending experienced veterans and young, aspiring journalists;
- a vibrant working environment in an expanding publishing business which currently prints three trade publications and will soon be launching its fourth magazine;
- an office and parking space in the heart of Moscow.

Freelance Oil and Gas Journalists
OGE is currently seeking to recruit experienced journalists as freelance correspondents in Russia's oil-bearing regions, and in neighboring countries that have been traditional markets for Russian exports. OGE is specifically interested in freelance energy journalists in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Designer / Layout Specialist
Part-time opening in Moscow for a designer and a layout specialist. Requirements: Experience in magazine layout and design using Quark 4.0 for Mac. (Russian national, knowledge of English preferred or expat conversant in Russian.)
