ERIELL Group Surpassed its Own Achievement in the West Siberia’s ARCTICGAZ Project

January 31, 2014

ERIELL Group has achieved a new record level in the ARCTICGAZ project having drilled the well with a 1019 m-long horizontal wellbore in 68 days.

Previous achievement also was displayed by ERIELL Group in 2013, when the first in the Urengoy region 1 km-long horizontal Achimov well was drilled. Previously no other company managed to exceed the 800 m of horizontal borehole length under the set schedules because of complicated mining/geological conditions in the Achimov series related with AHRP, relatively high sloughing gradients and low frac values.

ERIELL Group specialists with Schlumberger comprehensive technological support carried out tremendous work of individual approach to each well, using own knowhow, 24-hour engineering control and application of contractors’ advanced technologies such as real-time geomechanical modeling, hydrocarbon-based solutions, BHA with rotor controlled systems, PDC drilling bits and extended  well logging while drilling.

All these resulted in a 30% footage rate increase maintaining high quality of construction and cutting work schedule by half compared to the first well drilled under this Project.
