Russia's Rosneft said on March 25 it had repaid some $10.6 billion to international banks raised for its takeover of TNK-BP. Rosneft, headed by Igor Sechin, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, said it paid back loans ahead of time in December-March.
Rosneft announced on December 23 it repaid part of a loan obtained earlier from a group of international banks to finance the acquisition of TNK-BP.

Rosneft's buyout of minority shareholders in TNK-BP Holding is in line with the law and good corporate governance practice, a board member of the energy giant said on October 4, rejecting complaints that the price is not high enough, Reuters has reported.
The Board of Directors of Rosneft made a resolution to purchase ordinary and preferred shares of ОАО RN-Holding (formerly ОАО TNK-BP Holding) based on a voluntary offer to acquire shares under the applicable laws on joint stock companies.
