Ukraine Wants to Cut Imported Gas Price by 10%

December 6, 2013

Ukraine plans to cut the price of gas to be supplied from Russia and other countries in 2014 by 10%, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavitsky said Thursday, as cited by RIA Novosti, Prime reported on December 5.

“I won’t comment on media reports, let’s wait for official documents. Negotiations are being constantly held. We expect that next year gas purchases will cost at least 10% less than this year,” Stavitsky said.

Kiev also plans to retain gas transit from Russia to Europe at 90 billion cubic meters in 2014, and cut its gas consumption by 5%, the minister said.
