December 4, 2013

Naftogaz Ukrainy has agreed with Russia's Gazprom to postpone until the spring of 2014 the payments for natural gas supplied to Ukraine in October-December this year, RIA Novosti has reported, citing Naftogaz CEO Yevhen Bakulin, Ukrinform said on December 3.

"We agreed and postponed the payments from October, November and December until next spring in order to resolve all of the current problems and issues in the regions," he told reporters on December 3.

Bakulin said that the companies had reached a tentative agreement on the transfer of the payments until spring. "We worked with Gazprom and reached a preliminary agreement," he said.

He also said that Naftogaz would not be able to repay the debt for August gas deliveries due to the blocking of the work of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Bakulin said that the debt for August gas supplies is $765 million.
