Ukraine is technically capable of pumping 25 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from EU member states, which would be $100 cheaper than Russian gas, Ukrinform reported on March 26.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this after an extended meeting between Ukrainian officials and delegations of the European Commission.
"According to our estimates, it is technically possible to supply 25 billion cubic meters of gas [from the European Union], which would cost $100 less [per 1,000 cubic meters] than similar supplies from Russia," Yatseniuk said.
