May 6, 2011
Turkey has been preparing to sign an agreement for the transit of natural gas from Central Asia.

Officials said Turkey and Azerbaijan were drafting the final details of a transit gas accord from Shah Deniz-2. They said the agreement was expected to be signed by June and would include fees for fuel transportation to Europe.
Turkey has sought to play a major role in Shah Deniz-2, a $20 billion gas project in Azerbaijan's Caspian Sea.
