SIBUR Seeks New Ideas For Polymers

The Russian petrocheimcals company SIBUR has announced a contest of ideas on new ways to use synthetic rubber and polypropylene, the company said in a news release. Preference will be given to ideas that have been confirmed in practice and in the results of laboratory studies. The total prize amount on offer in the contest is 1.5 million rubles.

The contest is being held among teachers and students in industry colleges and research institutes, as well as employees in polymer refining enterprises, including SIBUR. Nevertheless, any natural person can enter as long as an application is submitted to the company by October 1, 2010.

SIBUR has recently increased its interest in perfecting technologies to produce synthetic rubber and polymers.
