Shell Officially Applies To Participate in Yamal LNG Project

Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE:RDS-B), the British-Dutch energy company has submitted an official proposal to Russia on joining the Yamal-LNG production project in Russia's north, Shell Vice President Aidan Murphy at a Commonwealth of Independent States conference in Paris.
"We submitted a proposal at the start of the year," Murphy said.
In September, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin hosted a meeting of top energy executives, including Shell CEO Peter Voser, in the Arctic town of Salekhard, around 2,000 kilometers northeast of Moscow to attract foreign investment into difficult Arctic projects.
