Sakhalin Produces 8 Million Tons of Crude in Six Months

July 11, 2011
Over the past six months, 7.974 million tons of crude has been produced on Sakhalin, or 5 percent more than in the same period in 2010. This growth was achieved after the launch of the Odopta off-shore project, Sakhalin-1.

Natural gas production came in at over 13 billion cubic meters of gas, or 2.7 per cent higher than in the first six months of 2010, Itar-TASS reports.

Most of the oil produced was produced by Exxon Neftegaz Limited, which is the operator of the Skhalin-1 project. Exxon Neftegaz produced 4.2 million tons.

The international consortium Sakhalin Energy, which operates the Sakhalin-2  project, produced 2.975 million tons of crude.

THe rest of the volume was produced by Sakhalinmorneftegaz, which produced from on-shore projects.
