Russia’s power consumption will increase 60% by 2035, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on January 16, Prime has reported.
The share of gas as a source for electricity production will stay flat, the share of coal will fall slightly, while the nuclear energy share will increase to 22% from 16%. The share of renewable energy sources will rise to 4.0-4.5% from 1%.
“We see that by 2035 the Russian economy, as follows from the Economic Development Ministry’s forecast, will grow 125%. The share of fuel sources will rise by only 30%, which on the one hand, means an increase in energy efficiency and on the other hand, a more comprehensive use of fuel and energy resources,” Novak said.
