Russia’s Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev will visit Iran in late April to discuss trade and economic issues, he said on February 12, Prime has reported.

“The trip will probably take place, but in April, not in March,” Ulyukayev said.

Iranian news agency Fars quoted Russian ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan as saying on February 8 that Ulyukayev would visit the country on March 21 to discuss a deal to barter Iranian oil for the construction of railways.

In January, Iran and Russia negotiated a deal worth $1.5 billion a month under which Russia would buy up to 500,000 barrels a day of Iranian oil in exchange for Russian equipment and goods.
