Russian gas deliveries to Armenia up 7.7% in Q1 2014

Natural gas deliveries to Armenia from Russia increased by 7.7% in January-March 2014 as compared with the same period of last year and amounted to 719.1 million cubic meters, Aysor.am reported on April 16. It said 674 million cubic meters of gas was sold in the indicated period. Sales grew by 5% on the same period of 2013.

Gas consumption by the energy sector of Armenia made 212.7 million cubic meters, increasing by 30.5% compared with January-March of last year. There was a 29.4% decline in natural gas consumption by industrial sector – 48.9 million cubic meters. Gas consumption by the population amounted to 222 million cubic meters, falling by 3.2%.
