Russia’s Lukoil to begin exploration in Dagestan region

Lukoil will begin geological exploration works in Dagestan, ITAR-TASS has reported, citing the first deputy to the chief engineer of Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft, Aleksey Kazakov. He spoke at a meeting on cooperation between the local government and Lukoil. The company will explore the deposits Khazri and Titon, said Kazakov. In September, Lukoil is going to begin drilling at Khazri, he said. After half a year of drilling, Lukoil will take a decision on Khazri, he said. Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft is currently the only Russian company producing oil in the Caspian region.
