Journalist Mikhail Leontyev was on January 14 appointed as Rosneft’s vice-president, press secretary and director of the information and advertisement department, Rosneft has said in a press release.

The newspaper Kommersant in early January cited anonymous sources as saying that Leontyev would become vice-president at Rosneft while Itar-Tass said he would be an advisor to president Igor Sechin. Leontyev on January 8 confirmed that he would work at Rosneft, but did not say in what capacity.

At Rosneft, Leontyev will replace Vladimir Tyulin who will be appointed to a different position in the company, according to the press release. Like Leontyev, Tyulin had worked on TV before Rosneft. He was first deputy CEO of Ren-TV for information and socio-political programs, said Lenta.ru.
