Russia’s Severneftegazprom begins drilling for Turonian gas

Severneftegazprom has begun the building of another well to produce difficult gas from a Turonian deposit in the South-Russian structure, Severneftegazprom’s press office has said.

Severneftegazprom CEO Stanislav Tsygankov, who oversaw the works, said Russia had huge reserves of Turonian gas, and other oil and gas companies would have to think about that sooner or later. Meanwhile, he said, Severneftegazprom would be a pioneer in this field.
