Putin hopes for mutually acceptable solutions on Third Energy Package with EU

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed the hope that Russia and the European Union would be able to reach mutually acceptable solutions on the Third Energy Package, Itar-Tass reported on January 28.

“We have certain problems and we discussed them,” he told a news conference on January 28 after the Russia-European Union summit. “For instance, the European Union’s laws of the recent years, which create certain problems. I would not dwell in detail on the Third Energy Package. You are aware of our position. We have brushed over this problem. I hope despite all difficulties we will finally reach mutually acceptable solutions, bearing in mind our mutual interest in energy cooperation."
