Production Uptick for Angola in 2016

November 19, 2015

Angola expects to see an uptick in production average in 2016. According to budget predictions presented to the country’s parliament, Africa’s second largest oil producer will see an average production rate of 1.89 million bpd.

Angola has seen rates of around 1.77 million bpd on average for 2015 and near the end of October it was reported that the country would be exporting 1.8 million bpd for December.

Part of the increase in 2016 will come from Total and Sonangol’s new deepwater oil project on Block 17. The project, part of the Rosa oil field, is expected to add over 30,000 bpd to Angola’s oil production capacity.
