Polish energy concern Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNIG) hopes for a gas price reduction from the Russian gas holding Gazprom at the year-end, the Polish company’s head Mariusz Zawisza said on June 3, ITAR-TASS has said.
The talks about price revision can start in November, according to the contract. The company was eager to use this opportunity seeing prices being reduced for Lithuania and Italy, Zawisza said.
Poland, he added, was the third largest gas buyer from Gazprom after Germany and Italy. “We always meet our liabilities in time and hope the price will be cut,” the revisions to take effect from 2015, Zawisza said.
