April 28, 2014

A memorandum between Eustream and Ukrtransgaz on reverse gas supplies from Slovakia to Ukraine will be signed on April 28, Ukrinform reported on April 26, citing Slovak Economy Minister Tomas Malatinsky as telling press conference in Bratislava He said that all issues on reverse gas supplies to Ukraine had been resolved.

"We're working on an option of the so-called Vojany connection [the Vojany-Uzhgorod gas pipeline] that legal-wise can be realized within a relatively short timeframe in two stages," - Malatinsky said. He noted that this option would enable a "relatively decent" volume of gas to be transported to Ukraine.

"We've also discussed the possible use of the so-called 'large reverse.' This isn't feasible from the legal point of view right now, though - and is pre-conditioned by talks with Gazprom or Russia," he said.
