Lukoil to Invest Over RUR 28bn in Volga Region Environment Safety by 2019

Lukoil is going to invest more than RUR 28bn in the program for environment safety in Volga Region in 2014-18, Lukoil has said in a statement.

The priority areas include utilization of newly-formed waste (the ratio of waste utilization to waste formation no less than 1:1), utilization of “old (pre-privatization) damages”, use of oil-associated gas at the level of at least 95% by 2015, further streamlining of the system of monitoring and decreasing greenhouse has emissions, increasing the production of environmentally friendly fuel corresponding to Euro-5 norms, prevention and readiness to clean up the consequences of possible disasters, recultivation of damaged and polluted land areas, implementation of automatic ecological control system, and bringing the effects on the environment from Lukoil activities in Russia and abroad into line with requirements of the national and international legislation.

The program for 2014-2018 provides for conducting 617 events worth more than RUR 140bn.
