KazMunayGaz Signs Memo with France's Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes

KazMunayGaz has signed a memorandum of understanding with Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes (France).

The document was inked by Kurmangazy Iskaziyev, the deputy chairman of KazMunayGaz directorate for geology and perspective projects and Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes director for strategic projects, Pierre Frenzel.

Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes is a leading producer of seamless steel pipes and quality connection elements for oil and gas pipes. It intends to set up a production facility in Kazakhstan.
 
Taking into account Kazakhstan’s policy in the field of industrial development and Kazakhstan’s demand for pipes for the oil and gas industry, KazMunayGaz and Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes said in the memorandum that they would study the possibility of building a pipe-cutting plant in Kazakhstan to produce high-quality connectors.
 
It is expected that the project will be in line with the programme of cooperation between the two governments as far as technology imports and industrial investment are concerned.
