Kazakhstan to build nuclear plant, new refineries

Kazakhstan links the development of the country's energy industry with the creation of a full-fledged nuclear power industry, the country's President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on February 5 during a traditional meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan, Trend has reported.

Our traditional energy is based on coal, oil and gas resources. In terms of nuclear power, Kazakhstan is the world's largest producer of uranium ore, carries out its partial enrichment and today the issue of the introduction of a full production cycle is being resolved. We plan to construct an NPP in the future, nuclear power," the president said.

The president also said that Kazakhstan will construct new refineries.
