Kazakhstan To Allocate Over 48 Billion Tenge To Develop Subsoil Base

Meeting on Tuesday, the Kazakhstan government approved a program to develop its subsoil industry from 2010 to 2014, Interfax-Kazakhstan reported.

"The goal of the program is to assure the rational use and production of minerals resources to actively develop all segments of industry", Deputy Industry and New Technologies Minister Albert Rau said in introducing the program.

Rau also said that under the program, Kazakhstan would replenish its reserves of hard minerals by 50 percent and hydrocarbons reserves by 30 percent.

He added that 48.211 billion tenge was needed to finance the program from 2010 to 2014.
