Last year, 3D seismic covered 500 square kilometers of the Chonsky group’s fields and this year the target is 900 square kilometers, according to Gazprom Neft.
The total volume of electric exploration will be increased from 2,500 linear kilometers last year to 4,500 linear kilometers in 2014. In 2013, the company drilled four exploration wells and tested again four wells drilled earlier. This year, the program envisions drilling five exploration wells, retesting a previously drilled well and the launch of a pilot operation on two wells.
In 2014, Gazprom Neft’s priorities for the Chonsky group of fields, which is located some 80 kilometers from the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean oil pipeline, include continuing exploration and readying the fields for pilot development. The company has already developed the concept of onsite infrastructure and plans to begin the installation of basic facilities. In 2016, Gazprom Neft and JOGMEC will start joint oil production, Gazprom Neft head Alexander Dyukov told journalists in mid-2013.
