Half of Russia’s RN Holding minority shareholders reportedly accept Rosneft’s offer

More than 50% of over 13,000 minority holders of Russia’s RN Holding, previously known as TNK-BP Holding, have used an offer of the country’s largest oil company Rosneft to buy their shares, a Rosneft source told PRIME on January 20.

“A group of so-called active minority holders of TNK-BP, who submitted suits to courts of various levels to contest the voluntary offer, strange as it may seem, were among the first to respond to Rosneft’s offer, still keeping on grumbling in mass media,” the source said.

A Rosneft spokesperson said that the company had waited for no other reaction. “The terms of the offer were more than attractive and significantly exceeded market quotes,” the spokesperson said.
