Russian energy giant Gazprom has vowed to fulfill its contract obligations despite Russia’s standoff with Ukraine, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said at a RIA Novosti press conference on May 12.

Yanovsky emphasized that the Russian energy major was pumping more gas into Europe’s underground reservoirs using the Yamal-Europe and the Nord Stream pipelines.

“Countries that have no alternative supply [channels] other than the Ukrainian gas transport system are most at risk,” the minister said, naming Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and several other countries.
