ExxonMobil not to cooperate with Russia’s Rosneft in Cuba

May 30, 2014

U.S. ExxonMobil has no plans to participate in Cuban deposits development by Russian oil major Rosneft because of the U.S. sanctions against Cuba, Executive Director Rex Tillerson said on May 29 at an annual shareholder meeting, Prime has reported.

In late 2013, Rosneft agreed with the Cuban government to explore new deposits in the country.

On May 28, Tillerson told Reuters in an interview that the Russian operations of ExxonMobil remained unaffected by the cooling U.S.-Russia relations.
