ESPO Route Stimulates Growth of Small and Medium Fields

November 11, 2010
The East Siberia-Pacific Ocean crude export route has stimulated the development of numerous small and medium fields located along the pipeline,  Transneft Vice President Mikhal Arustamov said in an interview with the company's corporate magazine.

Arustamov noted that the export route is in great demand today and said netback (net profit from selling crude less duties and transport fees) for oil companies was higher along the route than it was for operations using the Primorsk or Novorossiysk routes.

The larger fields that have benefited from the ESPO route include Taas-Yuryakhskoye, Talakanshoye and Verkhnechonskoye, Arustamov said.
