Egypt Seeks LNG via Jordan

August 24, 2015

In an effort to meet its ever growing domestic demand for energy, Egypt is looking for new sources of LNG imports. The North African country is looking to import LNG via Jordan.

EGAS, Egypt’s state-run firm in charge of the country’s gas industry is looking for four LNG cargos for delivery to Jordan’s Aqaba gas terminal which will then be piped to Egypt.

The country is already seeing imports from fellow North African producer Algeria and has entered into several agreements with other gas producers for LNG imports such as Gazprom, Noble Energy, and Vitol.
