Chinese CNPC may start oil production in Uzbekistan in 2015

CNPC is going to begin oil production at the Mingbulak deposit in Uzbekistan’s Namangan Region. By summer, CNPC will finish drilling at a licensed block where hydrocarbons were found. Infrastructure works will begin at the end of 2014 and oil production will begin in the first half of 2015, said a source familiar with the situation. CNPC and the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on cooperation and joint development of Mingbulak in October 2011.
