Canada’s LNG export potential

Canada continues its mission to become a leading LNG exporter, with recent news that Woodfibre LNG now plans to build its proposed LNG plant onshore. Pieridae Energy has also recently awarded CB&I the FEED contract for the Goldboro LNG facility in Nova Scotia.

The progress of both Woodfibre LNG and Pieridae Energy will be discussed at the Canada LNG Export Conference & Exhibition. Byng Giraud, Vice President Corporate Affairs - Pacific Oil & Gas – Woodfibre LNG, will give his views on maximising LNG export projects while promoting economic growth. Thom Dawson, Executive Vice President and COO, Pieridae Energy will discuss major capital LNG project risk mitigation.

Along with the many aspects of Canadian LNG exports, the projects are unable to progress without consultation and inclusion of the aboriginal communities. Although local government are saying all parties are being included, some First Nations officials still have significant environmental concerns. Ellis Ross, Chief Councillor, from Haisla First Nation will attend the conference to share his insights at the event focusing on building meaningful partnerships with the Aboriginal communities, business and government, in order to promote economic prosperity.
