Bulla-Deniz Gas Well Catches Fire In Caspian Sea

A gas well is burning in the Caspian Sea. The field is located in the open sea 80 kilometers from Baku, Utro.ru reports. The well caught fire during the night during drilling at a depth of about 6 kilometers. The reason for the fire is being investigated.

The fire encompassed well number 90, located in the north-east wing of the Bulla-Deniz gas condensate field, according to BFM.ru.

All people on the platform were evacuated. Work is currently under way to extinguish the fire.
