Russia’s Oil Output Hits a 13-Year High in 2004

Russia’s crude oil and gas condensate output in 2004 reached an all-time high since 1991. The companies produced 458.81 mln t (9.13 mln bpd), topping the 2003 mark by 9 percent.
In December 2004, Russian companies produced 39.44 mln t of oil, which is 2.6 percent more than December 2003. Russia’s vertical oil majors produced 420.99 mln t in 2004 (in December, 36.40 mln t).
In particular, YUKOS produced 85.68 mln t last year (7.03 mln t in December), LUKOIL followed with 84.1 mln t (7.27 mln t in December), TNK-BP was third with 70.26 mln t (6.16 mln t in December), Surgutneftegaz fourth with 59.6 mln t (5.25 mln t in December), Sibneft fifth with 33.98 mln t (2.9 mln t in December), Tatneft sixth with 25.09 mln t (2.09 mln t in December), Slavneft seventh 22.0 mln t (1.99 mln t in December), Rosneft eighth with 21.57 mln t (1.95 mln t in December).
In 2004, other Russian companies and joint ventures with foreign investment produced 23.42 mln t of crude (1.8 mln t in December). Russia’s largest gas company, Gazprom, produced 12 mln t of oil last year (1.1 mln t in December), PSA operators – 2.38 mln t (125,000 t in December).
