Interpipe NTRP Starts Production of Seamless Pipes With Corrosion-resistant Coating

Interpipe’s NTRP mill in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine has started production of seamless pipes with corrosion-resistant coating. The corrosion-resistant coating protects the surface and is applied by new painting installation equipment made by Venjakob (Germany). Companies based in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel will receive the first consignment of pipe products with the protective coating.

Fadi Hraibi, Product and Resource Management Director at Interpipe, said: “We constantly strive to improve the consumer characteristics of our products to suit customer demands. The applied corrosion-resistant coating serves to protect the pipes and significantly improves their marketable condition. We hope that the advantages of our products will be acknowledged by both current and potential clients of the Company.”

The protective coating that is applied onto the pipes is a varnish of ultraviolet polymerization. The drying time for the protective costing is about 0.5 to 2 seconds. The coating allows products to maintain their consumer characteristics while being transported by sea and during long storage. The painting installation consists of an air purification system that prevents atmospheric pollution and is safe for employees.
