Siemens Water Technologies introduced the Vantage M80 Series Reverse Osmosis and Nanofiltration Systems to the municipal market. The Deluxe version in this series, which includes upgraded controls and instrumentation compared to other versions, is now being introduced in North America for small to medium size applications to remove soluble contaminants from municipal drinking water systems. The systems are part of the Vantage Series previously introduced to the industrial market.
The Vantage M80 product line is available in 12 standard factory assembled configurations, with permeate flow rates ranging from 30 to 700 gallons per minute (6.8 to 159 cu. m/hr) per skid. Systems can be provided with nanofiltration, brackish water or energy efficient low-pressure RO membranes. The systems include a cartridge prefilter with stainless housing, booster pump, ASME code (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) stamped Fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) pressure vessels, membrane elements, automatic valves, instruments and controls, all mounted on an epoxy-coated steel frame. The systems are “ready to run” once the membranes are installed and simple utility connections are completed.
The series includes operator-friendly features such as a fully automatic control system with a touch screen and VFD controlled booster pump that doubles as the Clean in Place pump on some models. Other operator-friendly features include a built-in permeate blending valve on some models, which allows the operator to dial in the desired water quality. Extensive instrumentation for monitoring critical operating parameters such as pH, ORP, temperature, conductivity, salt rejection and flow rates are standard on the Vantage M80. The PLC has built-in connectivity via Ethernet, so the systems can be seamlessly integrated with overall plant controls.
