With their new GR type transducers, FLEXIM completes its scope of clamp-on ultrasonic flow transducers for the non-invasive flow measurement of gases. The newly engineered lamb wave transducers are ideal for the measurement of gases with high flow velocities or high acoustic damping. They are tuned to a small range of pipe wall thicknesses and are thus intended for permanent installation. On the other hand, the standard GD type transducers work with shear waves and cover a wide range of pipe diameter and pipe wall thickness. The GD type transducers, together with the FLUXUS® G 6725 portable electronic unit, are the best choice for mobile measurement tasks such as service, maintenance, error diagnostics and supervision of permanently installed meters. FLEXIM’s product line of gas transducers now covers a pipe diameter range of 76 to 1,525 mm and makes it possible to optimally adapt the measuring system to even the most demanding applications.
FLUXUS® G is the ideal solution for non-invasive gas flow measurement. It offers a bi-directional flow measurement with high dynamics and high precision over the whole measuring range. It is also completely wear-free. The measurement is not influenced by high moisture content or by dust.
Typical applications of FLUXUS® G are measurement on natural gas pipelines, in natural gas storage facilities and in compressor stations. Also, FLUXUS® G is often used in the offshore natural gas production process. Another common application is found in the chemical industry, where the clamp-on measurement is well suited for high pressure applications, such as synthesized gas. In the chemical industry, non-invasive measurement is the optimal solution for the flow measurement of aggressive or toxic reaction gases flowing through special plastic tubes.
The non-invasive ultrasonic clamp-on technology from FLEXIM is a reliable and established method for the flow measurement of gases. Because of its specific advantages for a great number of applications, it represents an economically and technically interesting alternative to conventional measuring techniques.
