Putin Promises Support for Foreign Energy Firms in Russia

The Russian government is ready to extend support to foreign energy firms working in Russia, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Total's President Christophe de Margerie.
During the Russian Prime Minister’s visit to France, the president of the French oil major Total urged Putin to help avoid any more delays in the Shtokman project.
"It is important that we keep to the scheduled dates and avoid any more delays", de Margerie said, according to web site Newsru.com. "It is possible that we need your help to put the heat on all the partners in the project", he added.
Putin replied that the Russian Government is ready to support all foreign energy firms working in Russia. "We intend to continue administrative support to increase development of activity on the Russian market", he said.
