Azerbaijan has produced 4.235 billion cubic meters of gas since the beginning of the year, a figure up 11.4 percent on January-February 2009 indicators, the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee reported.
Of the volume produced, 1.8 billion cubic meters came from associated petroleum gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field and natural gas from the Shah Deniz field. Compared to the same period last year, production at these fields was down 6.3 percent.
In 2009, Azerbaijan produced 23.584 billion cubic meters of natural gas, showing growth of 0.8 percent on 2008.
