37 Tenders for Shtokman Announced

According to Head of the Shtokman Development AG Yury Komarov, all contractors will be demanded to have Russian participation, news agency Baltinfo.ru reports. Contractors, who bring new technologies to Russian, will be preferred.

-We guarantee that we will have open and transparent tender procedures where Russian subcontractors keeping international standards are prioritized, Komarov said and added that Russian manufacturers are capable of producing the 1100 kilometers of pipes needed for the project.

All tenders procedures shall be finished by March 2010. The timetable, project documentation and investment needs will also be ready by then.

Although Shtokman Development is registered in will be paying taxes to Murmansk Oblast, Komarov said.
