Medvedev: Ruble Settlements for Oil & Gas?

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has proposed switching to rubles in settlements for oil and natural gas, as well as using the Russian currency where possible in other sectors of the Russian economy. Moreover, Medvedev says it is necessary to give impetus to offering equity securities for rubles and giving preference to Russian exchanges. The leader stressed that the ultimate goal was to make ruble one of the regional currencies.
