On August 7, 2008, the Siberian Service Company set a new record of well drilling on the OAO Salym Petroleum Development N.V. project. The drilling crew led by Vladimir I. Pestov drilled well No. 1491 within 6.25 days, with surface hole drilled within 2.69 days and string section drilled within 3.56 days. The depth of well No. 1491 located at the West Salym field of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District is 2523 meters. V.Pestov’s crew beat the previous record set by Deutag company (6.30 days). Earlier Pestov’s crew drilled 2580 m deep well No. 1469 within 6.29 days. It should be noted that in the rating of drilling contractors for the international oil company Shell ZAO SSC securely holds seventh place.
