Hugo Chavez, upon his arrival in Moscow, called for Russia and Venezuela to become strategic partners in oil and defense, something he said would "guarantee Venezuela's sovereignty, which is currently being threatened by the United States," reports Russia Profile with a source from RIA Novosti.
Venezuelan President arrived in Moscow on Tuesday, kicking off a European tour with a two-day visit to Russia for "strategic" talks on political, economic and defense cooperation.
