AB Mazeikiu Nafta, which operates the only oil refinery in the Baltic states, plans to resume to full production capacity after a power outage halted production two days ago.
``We are producing all products now and plan to resume to full capacity soon, today even,'' said spokesman Rosvaldas Gorbaciovas by phone today. ``We're on the course towards the normal rhythm.''
All units at Mazeikiu refiner went offline two days ago after lightning cut off electricity supply to the company. Gorbaciovas said Mazeikiu is still investigating the damage.
The plant can process 10.3 million tons of oil a year and accounts for about a third of the refining capacity of owner PKN Orlen SA, Poland's biggest oil company. Orlen bought Mazeikiu in 2006 to boost capacity and expand in the Baltic states.
