Gazprom and Hungarian Finance Minister Discussed South Stream Project Issues

Gazprom’s Headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Janos Veres, Finance Minister of the Republic of Hungary, Co-Chairman of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The parties addressed the current state of and outlook for cooperation in the gas sector.

A focus was placed on the issues related to the implementation of the Intergovernmental Agreement providing for the construction of a gas trunkline across Hungary as part of the South Stream gas pipeline system.

Gazprom provides nearly 65 per cent of gas imports to Hungary. In 2007 Gazprom export supplied Hungary with nearly 7.5 bcm of gas.
